Interested in learning the art of fly tying? This class is just what you need and is great for beginners who have never tied flies before, tyers who are looking to strengthen their tying skills or seasoned tyers looking to build on new fly patterns.
Regardless of where you are in your fly-fishing career, tying your own flies should be on your list. As with many new undertakings, attempting to start on your own can be a difficult task. There is a lot to learn and the endeavor incorporates some challenging techniques. This class is the perfect way to get the fundamental methods under your belt and learn about the tools and materials required for the processes.
Participants will learn to tie fly patterns that are commonly used in New Hampshire waters. They will be introduced to the use of all of the basic tools and materials necessary to tie flies, and learn what the flies imitate. The instructor will also discuss insect anatomy and explain why a particular fly is used along with the history of these patterns.
All program materials and equipment will be provided. If you have your own equipment, you are welcome to bring it and use it however a there will always be ample equipment for the class to use.
